Hokie fans will be in heaven
Chris Colston, one of the biggest Hokie fans I know, has put together an unbelievable magazine, “Hokie Football Annual,” previewing the Virginia Tech 2010 football season. Copies are currently available on line or, better yet, you can save the mailing and stop by one of our two offices and pick up a copy for just $19.95 plus tax. We have offices at 1633 West Main Street in Salem, right next to Auto Zone, and at 302 West Main Street in Christiansburg, which is the old Domino’s building.
If you are a Hokie fan, a REAL Hokie fan, here’s something you can’t do without. And as Billy Mays used to say, “YOU CAN GET IT TODAY AT A BARGAIN PRICE IF YOU ACT NOW!!!”ROANOKE, Va —
While many Hokie fans made the trip to see 10th ranked Virginia Tech take on 3rd ranked Boise State at FedEx field near Washington D.C., plenty of other fans stayed closer to home and crowded into local restaurants to watch the game.At Buffalo Wild Wings at Valley View Mall in Roanoke, there was plenty of orange and maroon as well as cheers of "Let's GO HOKIES" at kickoff. Within a few minutes, the crowd quieted down quite a bit as the Broncos took an early 10 to 0 lead.
Many Hokie fans told News 7 there were nervous. Shawn Long said "very, one word, very." Brad Bond told us "it does make me nervous but the Hokies always tend to come back, 2nd half team definitely.
At half time Virginia Tech was still losing but was till in the game. During the 3rd quarter, Virginia Tech had taken the lead prompting many fans to talk about the possibility of the Hokies playing in the national championship. Fans realize there was a lot riding on this game.
Hokie Fan Kayla Heins told News 7 "I have pearl earrings riding on this game." Afton Clifton said "A lot of my friends don't like Tech so I'm just going to rub in their face when they win this game." Jeremy Blair said "it's never too early to talk about that. They've been talking about that since last year, no it's never too early."
